Basic lock post installation
  • Xpanda Security employs a unique mortised cylinder locking post for maximum security at your front doors.  This lock post uses the same lock mechanism that you likely, currently, have in your store's Aluminum Front doors.
However we avoid the vulnerable full length space that is created when you lock your current door lock, by employing a male/female channel that hides the lock latch and resists pry bar entry.
Furthermore, Xpanda Security’s lock posts offers the convenience of keying your current door lock and our gate lock to one key. The Lock posts can be configured in any combination of Cylinder/ thumb turn/ blank plate.
  • See the BASIC GATE INSTALL SECTION before trying to install these lock posts….they should be installed prior to the wheel being attached , and of course you can ignore the SLAM LOCK and “U” bracket installation processes.
  • If you have a SINGLE DOOR set up , the wheel can actually be attached inside the channel, wrapping around under the gate.
  • Then you attach it to the gate , and the female receiver to the frame/post as required.
  • Please note there may be an aluminum bullet shaped “locator” pin just below the lock mechanism, to assist in guiding the lock halves together.

  • There are holes in all the parts to allow for “blind” screw insertion ( either type of screw will work)

PINNED LOCK POSTS FOR DOUBLE DOOR SET UPS
  • If you are using a pair of gates for your double doors, we will supply a lock post that has an upper & lower stabilizing rod in the female receiver post side.
  • These rods go into a floor socket (supplied) …drill using a 5/8” masonry bit.
  • The upper rod goes into a supplied aluminum plate that will likely need to be trimmed, once its position is determined.
  • The wheels for the  gates cannot be installed in the channel or on the receiver post, but must be screwed to the face of the gates ( store side)…not on the lock post!
  • When lowering/raising the rods using the activator pins , handle them with care as due to the rod  weight dropping them may shear the pins off .

SPECIAL NOTE
We recommend having your locksmith key alike our gate cylinder to your existing front door key
